P 40 Gun - The Kahr P-Series is a series of double-action-only (DAO) hammerless, spiked, short-recoil semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Kahr Arms.

P-Line's target market is the civilian market for concealed handguns, as well as backup weapons for law enforcement officers.

When the first Kahr pistols hit the market in 1994, they were made entirely of carbon steel.

Finally Got The Wife To Paint My P40 Slide

Early Kahr models like the K9 were considered well-made and solidly built, but were criticized for being too heavy, a drawback for concealed carry weapons.

As mentioned above, the P-Series pistols are made with stainless steel slides that sit on steel inserts inside the polymer frame, preventing the wear that would otherwise come with the metal slide contacting the plastic frame. Available ammunition chambers are .380 ACP (P380), 9×19mm (P9), .40 S&W (P40), and .45 ACP (P45). The P-Series pistols have a very clean and practical look with black plastic grips and either brushed stainless steel or blackened Tungst TLC stainless steel slides. The TLC patina, created by applying a thin but durable protective layer, was called "Black Diamond" early in production and was appreciated for its lack of noticeable light reflection in dark environments. TLC coatings also serve to protect the slide from oxidation, nicks, and scratches.

P-guns are known for their very fine and consistent DAO trigger pulls, up to about six pounds, and their large and highly visible sights in a variety of configurations, including night vision goggles. Simplified controls, such as the absence of a manual safety lever, are also positives and contribute to a desirable package for concealed use.

The P-Series also features a fully enclosed trigger transfer rod. The engineering design work required to fit it into the tight space of the receiver resulted in several changes to the lock. One such change was the relocation of the cartridge feed ramp, which allowed the overall design of the receiver to be thinner. It also allowed the slide to be more stubby with the low bore shaft resulting in less muzzle rise and roll.

The PM barrel configuration has a polygonal bolt, which should theoretically last longer and collect less debris. Overall, an important advantage of the Kahr pistol design is that virtually all Kahr models share the same functions and trigger actions, meaning that once the user gets to grips with the handling characteristics and feel of one model, the learning curve for mastering the others is reduced. Kahr firearms are much shorter.

The Kahr P380 chambered in .380 Auto is available in three main styles: full matte black, black frame with stainless steel slides, and a specially engraved Black Rose Edition.

All three styles come standard with twist-adjustable white dot combat sights, but can also be purchased with adjustable tritium night sights.

The Kahr P40 chambered in .40 S&W comes in two main styles; all matte black or black frame with stainless slide.

Chambered in .45 ACP, the Kahr P45 comes in two different styles; all matte black or black frame with stainless slide.

Both styles come standard with drift-adjustable white band dot combat sights, but adjustable tritium night sights can also be purchased.

Kahr also offers the CW series pistols, which are a low-cost version of the P series. The CW Series is available in .380 ACP, 9×19mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP calibers.

The main differences between the CW series and the P series are: The CW series uses traditional rifled barrels instead of the P series polygonal rifle. The CW series has a fixed rear sight instead of the drift adjustable dovetail rear sight of the P series. CW series pistols are slightly larger than their P series counterparts. The CW series has less machined contours and the slide stop metal is die-cast rather than machined.
