Fort Meade Class Six - FORT MEADE - The new Fort Meade Exchange has opened its doors, bringing an innovative shopping experience to the community just in time for the gift-giving season.

The $37.2 million transaction first welcomed buyers on November 25. The new flagship store has been under construction since 2012, replacing a 40-year-old facility.

At the 166,869-square-foot store, service members, retirees and their families will find exclusive concept stores for top brands, including Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, The North Face, Columbia and Victoria's Secret.

The new store will also sell Ashley essentials including appliances and furniture. A special operation: Be Fit section has also been added. Military uniforms, which were previously housed in a separate building built in 1953, were moved to the Main Stock Exchange.

At the center, military shoppers will find new stores, including a tactical store, flower shop, Paul Mitchell gym, and Pro Image Sports, which sells shirts, hats and other memorabilia. As a further convenience for military shoppers, the Fort Meade pharmacy also moved to the center.

The new food court offers something for everyone. Denny's Fresh Express and Boston Market each represent the chain's second locations on military installations. Domino's, Starbucks, Charley's and Subway complete the offer.

Regular opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 9:00pm. and on Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00 2015 an opening ceremony is planned.
